Making friends and meeting people

We have had an exciting first month here in Costa Rica. The boys seem to be adjusting well, though Seth has learned a few things about meeting the neighbors...

A good way: Fall head first in the street and bleed profusely from the head. Have mom carry you screaming home and neighbors will come to see if you are all right and offer help and bandages.

A bad way: Hang out at the front of the neighborhood waiting for Dad to come and take us to church. While there pick a wild cherry tomato and throw it at a car. Make sure that this car happens to be the neighbor directly next to you so he knows where you live and can go tell your mom. Then after getting a spanking, go apologize in spanish and take the neighbors trash up the hill for him.

Hopefully we have learned a lesson and will find more good ways to meet the nieghbors!

Mission Update

Just a quick update on our progress in preparing for our move to Costa Rica. God is gracious and has provided 78 prayer partners, so we are only 22 people short of our goal of 100. We have also made progress in our financial support. We have about 75% of our monthly and one-time goals. Our target date for leaving the US is July 1st.

We placed a deposit on a small (900 sq. ft.) townhouse in Alajuelita which is a poor town just south of San Jose.

We are having garage sales and are selling almost everything we have, the house is starting to feel a little empty.

God provided renters and a property manager for our current home.

Some current prayer issues are Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Loan for the property in Costa Rica, cheap plane tickets, and God's direction and timing as me make final preparations.
